1. what are online
Pull up a chair and I shall tell you an exciting tale of the history of dice, it’s more exciting than I
make it sound, promise. Dice have been in existence for centuries with the exact source being unknown.
Some historians credit the invention of dice to the Greek Palamedes during the siege of Troy, whereas
other state they were invented by the Lydian’s in the days of King Atys. Although the exact origin of
where dice came from is open to interpretation, one thing has always been true, having Integrity and
fairness when rolling dice is what truly counts.
Online Dice generators were invented to offer an alternative to physical dice and have a number of
perks. Unlike physical dice that may contain air bubbles and weighting issues, digital dice are truly
random and completely fair.
When using online dice generators each dice roll is independent of the previous one. The bulk of random
dice rollers do not use computed values, or utilize repeated algorithms when generating the landing
face, rather the numbers are randomly selected by running an algorithm that picks the number at random.
Dice Generators can be seen online for many different games including; Dungeons and Dragons, Star Wars,
Yahtzee, Risk, 40k, Fate, Risk and more! While each of them uses a different interface for their dice,
the method is still the same. A fair and balanced alternative to regular dice. Online Dice Rollers are
designed per game as most of the games use different dice to another. For example you wouldn’t be using
a D20 for Star Wars, but in Dungeons and Dragons you would be lost without it.
2. WHY USE OUR
ONLINE DICE ROLLER ?
Our online dice roller is built by RPG gamers, for RPG gamers. While other dice roller applications
focus on random dice software to cater more towards a gambling user base, our online dice roller
application is made solely for use in RPG and table top games.
The random dice roller uses a pseudo-random number generator. Thus, the generator utilizes a custom
algorithm that enables you to role random numbers over and over regardless of the number of dice sets,
face shapes or being limited by the numerous sides. This also means your comrades can’t accuse you of
rigged dice when you roll another natural 20. Nor can they complain if you forget your physical dice,
because you're a cool person who has this under control as you whip out your phone app…just don’t
actually whip it…that game would end rather quick if you did.
Our random dice roller application rewards you with points, these points add up after every five rolls.
Once you’ve accumulated enough you can use your points to acquire physical dice sets, PayPal rewards or
simply donate your earnings to charity.
Unlike other online dice roller applications we give users the ability to turn off ads completely, we
know it can be a pain when ads start popping up during RPG gaming sessions so have added a setting. This
way you, the user, can turn ads off when gaming sessions get serious. For example when you challenge
that dwarf to a drinking contest, hey some people have other priorities, not all dungeon delving and
fighting dragons round here.
3. VIRTUAL DICE ROLLER
Use the random dice virtual dice roller below by clicking on a dice you wish to roll, however you won’t be able to collect points or see past rolls so we do advise you download the random dice roller application on your favorite device to get the most out of our software.
Fun fact: Did you know original dice where made from sheep knucklebones?
4. HOW TO ROLL DND STATS
WITH AN ONLINE DICE ROLLER?
You may think this will be hard, but trust me it’s easy as pie!
Ability Scores: If you use the dice rolling method rather than the standard preset numbers you will have to roll 4 D6 die, after this you take the 3 highest numbers and add those together, you don’t use the lowest number rolled and this is disregarded. Continue doing this until all your scores are filled. After this assign your scores highest to lowest in order of importance for your class (this will be on your class page). Certain races also get negative and bonuses to certain scores, check your race page for this and add/remove it from your scores. After this add in your modifiers (found in players handbook, page 13).
For saving throws and skills add your ability modifiers, colour in the circle if you’re proficient in that ability.
Initiative: Take your dexterity modifier and your passive wisdom, this is 10 + your wisdom modifier.
Hit Points: Firstly find out which die your class uses as their hit dice, this will be used for health and healing. Upon finding this you will roll your hit die and add your constitution modifier.
It may sound complicated at first but I promise it’s easier than you think!
